Title: ATTORNEY AT LAW Kay Laumer is the founder and owner of the Birmingham law firm of Laumer Law, LLC. She concentrates her law practice in the areas of criminal law, family law, divorce, adoption and general litigation. Ms. Laumer is a former Assistant District Attorney in the 5th and 18th Judicial Circuits of Alabama where she served from 1984-1992. Ms. Laumer has lectured on criminal trial practice, ethics, billing, juvenile law and serving as appointed counsel at various continuing education programs throughout the state. Ms. Laumer has been featured on national television on the A and E Channel program, "After The First 48 Hours." Ms. Laumer has served as President and Treasurer of the Greater Birmingham Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Birmingham Bar Association. Ms. Laumer has been recognized and honored for her work by various organizations during her career, among those Altrusa International. She works with the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyer Program. A 1978 dean's list graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts, Ms. Laumer earned her J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1983. While at Cumberland School of Law she was on the National Dean's List and participated in the Cumberland Trial Advocacy Board.
